Hello to all that are visiting! Let me introduce myself, I’m Stephanie Cammann! I am an Oregon native, born and raised in Eugene, home of the Oregon Ducks and have lived in the Portland area since I started college. I have always been an outdoor lover, no matter the season, and one of my favorite places to visit is the Oregon Coast (the stormier the weather, the better!).
Since starting my journey with photography, I’ve come to fully accept the inner part of me that has flourished into a thriving and creative soul. As I have evolved my craft, I have found inspiration through my mentors, as well as other friends and photographers I admire who changed the art of photographing and documenting our world, such as Ansel Adams landscapes, Robert Frank’s documentary style of life and the world as he saw it, and Robert Mapplethorpe’s flower portraits.
I always grasp a new opportunity with some terror and wonder of where it will lead me. Just about every new genre of photography that I have explored has nearly ended in tears, but by persisting through the struggles I’ve had, I have always pushed myself to figure out the techniques and skills.
Studio photography is one of those things where I was thrown into the deep end and began learning with great reluctance. After working through my initial intimidation when I was first starting out in my college career, the studio became a second home, where I have been able to teach myself and expand creativity on what I produce. Being in a studio environment is one of my favorite places to be, creating unique and bold black and white images of floral embellishments or striking fashion portraits.
